The 5th Edition of the African Military Boxing Championship (CAMBOXE) was hosted by the Algerian delegation of CISM/OSMA from 3rd to 10th November 2018 at the Military Sports Complex in Algiers. The championship brought together over twenty participating nations, reflecting the growing scale and importance of military sports across Africa.
The event opened with a dignified and well-organised ceremony, presided over by the Chief of Defence Staff of the Algerian Armed Forces. Under the leadership of General Guerriche Oumar, Chief Delegate of Algeria to OSMA, the competition was delivered with exceptional professionalism, leaving a lasting impression on all participants and stakeholders.
The boxing contests unfolded over three days of intense and high-quality competition, showcasing the skill, discipline, and determination of the athletes. Host nation Algeria dominated the championship, securing the majority of the medals and finishing as overall champions. Kenya claimed second place, followed by Tunisia in third position.
